Currently, there is a great demand for classical TCM knowledge.
However, detailed information was only available in the Chinese language. This has changed.
This course uses the original Chinese texts as a stable and extensive foundation and translates them into English in order to facilitate the closest link with the source.
This unique course is offered to you by the TCM Classics Research Institute in collaboration with the Shandong University of TCM.
Jīn Guì Yào Lüè
Jīn Guì Yào Lüè (“Essential Prescriptions of the Golden Coffer”) is the second half of the Shāng Hán Zá Bìng Lùn (“On Cold Damage and Miscellaneous Diseases”) by the Eastern Hàn physician Zhāng Jī (circa 150-219 A.D.). It is the earliest extant treatise on miscellaneous diseases (referring to to diseases of internal medicine).
The Jīn Guì Yào Lüè consists of 25 chapters. Chapter one is devoted to etiology, while chapters 2 to 22 contain specific studies of more than 40 syndrome complexes. For a detailed description, please see the course content below.
During the course the classic context as well as the modern clinical application will be explained. Although these texts were written 1800 years ago, they have since then been used, tested and commented on. This makes them a very valuable and useful ‘source of knowledge’.
There is a reason why it is called the "Essential Prescriptions of the Golden Coffer". These prescriptions are very valuable and very useful for todays clinical application. During this course you will learn the mechanisms of these prescriptions and how to modify them. And you will open the Golden Coffer and become amazed by the treasures inside. |

The sections related to externally contracted disease were reorganized by Wáng Shū-Hé (210-285) to form the Shāng Hán Lùn, and the sections related to other diseases of internal medicine were later re-arranged to form the Jīn Guì Yào Lüè (“Essential Prescriptions of the Golden Coffer”).
As you will learn, the Jīn Guì Yào Lüè can not only be applied to a large variety of complex internal diseases you encounter in your clinic.
As long as you understand the mechanisms of the disease and the formula, you can apply it effectively to a large scope of problems, that are nowadays part of the modern clinic.

The goal of this course is to study the Jīn Guì Yào Lüè in-depth to enable you to improve your clinical results.
